June 2003, Daisy & Frank are getting married!
They’d considered the church in Puerto Rico, where Daisy’s parents married. An expense many guests could not afford in order to share in their wedding day. Frank’s parents from Brooklyn, married in Maryland. Florida, where both of their mothers live, was on the table. As we all know, other than the bride and the groom, mothers are the next most important and vocal participants of a wedding. Frank flew to Florida. Unimpressed with what those venues had to offer, the search continued.
Daisy is an avid art lover.
Frank is a lover of architecture.
One unique architectural venue they’d considered was Lambert Castle in Paterson, N.J. Unfortunately, the mandatory usage insurance policy to protect the property against physical damage would have consumed a large portion of their wedding budget… the search continues.
They came upon Ellarslie aka The Trenton City Museum in Trenton’s Cadwalader Park. After meeting with the curator, the decision to hold the reception at Ellarslie made itself! Who could turn down a $500 rental fee as well as the marriage of Art & Architecture! An added bonus to the couple’s big day was that The Ellarslie Open, an annual juried exhibition of art created by local artists on display, would be in full swing for all the wedding guests to enjoy! A wedding for the ages and not soon to be forgotten!
